Welcome, I know that finding time to prioritize yourself isn’t easy and I’m glad to see you here.  My name is Cyndi Morales, and I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and certified Women’s Mental Health Specialist and Clinical Trauma Professional based in New York. I founded In Harmony Mental Health Counseling, PLLC to create a space where healing feels possible, identities are affirmed, and meaningful change can unfold, especially as people go through significant life transitions.

I support individuals through challenges related to trauma, cultural identity, family-of-origin dynamics, and major life transitions that exacerbate anxiety and/or depression. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling stuck - carrying the weight of past experiences, people-pleasing tendencies, or deep self-doubt. I offer a therapeutic relationship grounded in compassion, cultural sensitivity, and collaboration, where we can safely explore what’s holding you back and work toward lasting change.

During sessions, we will work to untangle the beliefs that fuel self-criticism and anxiety, while also deepening awareness of emotions and bodily experience in the present moment. Together, we explore how patterns of disconnection - from self or others -  may have formed and how they can shift toward more authentic, compassionate connection. My goal is to support you in thinking clearly, feeling deeply, and relating openly.

Prior to private practice, I worked with individuals in the foster care system and those affected by HIV.  These experiences strengthened my belief in the resilience of the human spirit and the importance of culturally affirming care. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Forensic Psychology and a Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology and Mental Health Counseling from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

Whether you’re starting therapy for the first time or returning after a break, I’m here to support you - gently, intentionally, and in harmony with your unique path.
